Lecture: The tradition of the Holy Graves
Date and Time: Wednesday, 24.05.2023, 7 p.m.
Speaker: Gabriele Flemming
This evening our speaker will give us an insight into the tradition of holy graves and their fascinating history. Especially the example of the Holy Sepulchre in Constance Cathedral will reveal fascinating aspects that only few know about. Built by the holy bishop Konrad himself in the 10th century it stands in the famous Mauritius Rotunda at the apex of the cloister. Gabriele Flemming studied the architectural and cultural history of the Constance Cathedral for years and was one of the first scholars ever to examine the Holy Sepulchre in Constance in terms of its architectural, liturgical and art historical aspects.
This lecture will be held in English with translation to GER, BG, UKR and RO.
