Date and Time: 19th November 2024, 7 p.m. (C.E.T.)
The concept of town twinning has played an important role in European integration and in the beginning even reconciliation. As early as five years after WWII a French and a German city became twin cities. In this online-meeting, we will have a look at what town twinning meant in the beginning, how it developed and what possibilities it offers today for an active citizenship and integration and democratization processes in Europe. After a short input, we welcome a lively discussion.
Lana Mayer is manager of EUROPE DIRECT Stuttgart, before that she volunteered at Europe House Vukovar in Croatia, while working as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Osijek.
The lecture will be held in English with translation into German, Bulgarian, Serbian, Romanian, and Ukrainian.
