Dear Collegues and friends from the danube Region and other European countries
We warmly invite you to our next online event in the frame of the “Fit4Democracy” project:
On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, at 6:00 p.m. (CET), we look forward to welcoming Dr. Dušana Findeisen, Head of the Institute for Research and Development of Education within Slovenian Third Age University.
In her lecture “How outreach programs can foster the civil participation of older persons”, Dr. Findeisen will explain the concept of outreach as it is understood in social welfare, adult education, and education for older people across different European contexts. The lecture will focus on how outreach practices aim to identify, approach, and support vulnerable and socially disadvantaged groups who are at risk of marginalization.
In her presentation Dr. Findeisen will address the multiple dimensions of vulnerability, including individual experiences of exclusion as well as the social pressures that contribute to marginalization on social, economic, cultural, and symbolic levels. She will also discuss the challenges these individuals face in developing socially valued identities and gaining recognition in the public sphere.
