105th Come Together Session 26.04.26 – Tastes of Home

Dear colleagues and friends from Europe and other areas,

You were invited to a special “Tastes of Home Come Together” session. Participants could look forward to a warm and engaging gathering that gently guided them through the rich and diverse world of traditional food and cultural identity. Through presentations, music, and shared reflections, they explored authentic culinary practices from different regions, discovering how food connected us to our roots and to one another.

The program wove together insights into a traditional Sardinian dish and edible grasses, a presentation of the Bosnian specialty punjene paprike, and explorations of Bulgarian cuisine, including the symbolic meaning of bread in Bulgarian cultural heritage. Complementing these moments, a group of Bulgarian singers brought atmosphere and emotion through traditional melody.

Throughout the event, participants were invited to reflect and engage in a discussion about the tastes of home — considering our connection to traditional foods, how our preferences had evolved over time, and what factors had contributed to these changes. By alternating between informative presentations, musical interludes, and open conversation, the program created a sense of closeness, shared memory, and cultural continuity.

Bilyana Todorova, Ivanka Baltova and Vasilka Avramova from Bulgaria moderated the session.
